A person who has completed D.Pharm can be employed as a Registered Pharmacist in a community pharmacy (Medical Store / Chemists & Druggists) or a hospital pharmacy, in Industry, in Pharmacovigilance and in academics also. It is the minimum qualification to practice pharmacy; therefore, it is mandatory that all dispensing of prescription medicines has to be done under the supervision of a pharmacist only.
The Candidate should be passed in 10+2 examination in Science with Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects: Mathematics or Biology from a recognized institution in U.P State or outside U.P. State.
The admission criteria in the D.Pharm are to clear the JEECUP entrance exam.

Duration of the course is 2 years with each academic year spread over not less than 180 working days. A candidate needs to complete a training of minimum 500 hrs. Spread over a period of 3 months after completion of second year of the course.
For admission to D.Pharm the eligible candidate will register himself / herself through either online mode at the portal or at the Helpdesk at the HIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida. After filing the form, student will prepare for the exams (took free tutoring from HIMT) and clear the exam, then participate in the counseling through Help Desk at HIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida. Finally the student visits the college and reports physically.
He/she will produce necessary documents including Aadhar card, provisional or original certificates of qualification, TC, Migration, Caste Certificate, Income Certificate and Domicile as required for the admission. With approval of the competent authority, candidate will pay the prescribed fees.
